I’m really missing the Spring photoshoots this year. I’ve been walking and cycling with the family, visiting my favourite spots around St Albans and Harpenden. We’ve enjoyed the sun and the well trodden local footpaths.

During this time of Lockdown I know photographers up and down the country are feeling exactly the same way. it’s frustrating not seeing our regular clients and meeting new families.

The stunning white and pink blossom is out, littering the towns high streets, people’s gardens and roadsides. A lovely opportunity for a photo portrait.

Then tucked away are the bluebells nestled in the woods. There are many beautiful spots around St Albans. Batchwood, Symondshyde Wood and Heartwood to name a few. I really enjoy my family shoots in the woods. It’s such a special time, early morning or late afternoon when the sun is at a perfect height to bounce through the trees.

Oil seed rape is also a welcomed sight this time of year. It brightens up the landscape and roadsides. The vibrant colour looks stunning on a shoot especially with a clear blue sky!

Yesterday I should have been second shooting a beautiful spring wedding at the stunning Tewin Bury Farm Hotel, luckily they have been able to postpone to next year.

So although I’m missing the spring photoshoots, hopefully soon we will all be back on track. Fingers crossed we can start booking photoshoots again shortly. In the meantime enjoy the beautiful weather we’ve been enjoying. Get your camera out and take lots of photos of the family at this unusual time. Stay well and look after each other.
